Open Source Gaming Console, Say What?!

While browsing a couple of forums that I go to regularly, I saw a post titled “Open Source Gaming Console”, I clicked it and saw some interesting concepts. Although HSNetwork hasn’t revealed too much detail about the project. I know for sure that it’s going to be a Linux-based, Internet-capable device. HSNetwork also planned to release emulator to play games for other consoles, as well as a CD/DVD player built-in for other contents.

A couple of questions clouds my mind. With all the money spent on developing the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360, can a team of “amateurs” really take them down? If this is really an open source console, can’t people just build this themselves? Would Linux be compatible with all the market's game even though that emulators are built (and we all know that emulators sucks)?

We also have to keep in mind that we shouldn’t be that excited yet. According to the post, there aren’t too many people who signed up for this event yet. Although HSNetwork say that he can see the project in his mind, this still may be another vapourware. Or is this going to the next big thing?

Major Operation on My Computer

Since now that Windows 7 RC has arrived, it’s time to retire Windows Vista and Windows 7 Beta. I have a 250GB HDD on this laptop, with 3 partitions (don’t add up to 250GB for obvious reasons):

• 50GB: Windows Vista
• 150GB: Storage
• 20GB: Windows 7 Beta

This is going to be my configuration, hopefully, after this weekend:

• 50GB: Windows 7 RC
• 150GB: Storage
• 20GB: Ubuntu 9.04

I have no problem backing up all my data and reinstalling Windows, it’s the ubuntu I’m worried about. I’m a n00b at Linux since I’ve never used it before other than some limited experience with WUBI. I want to dual-boot Windows and Ubuntu without Wubi, and using the, hopefully, windows boot manager.

So let me get ready to backup some final data and reinstalling. I will post again once Windows 7 is installed.

The Top 5 Reasons of why I do not having a Facebook account

Ahhh. Facebook, perhaps the largest social network ever existed. Strangely, I'm not on Facebook, and here are the reasons why:

1. Facebook is just too popular. Everyone I know is on Facebook, it's like the feel of being stalked all day around.
   
2. Facebook is the new Google. At least Google don't know your phone number, your pictures, your street address, social security number, bank account number, and other crap like it. Facebook has all those shit, and they threatens that they can keep and use that information forever! Go to hell Facebook!
   
3. Spam. Facebook has waaayyyy too much spam. I'm not talking about "19 AND STILL SINGLE?!" or "Wanna hang out tonight?" I'm talking about "You just received a digital hug from <insert name here>", or "You just got an animated cake from <insert name here>". That drives me nuts! What the hell! I don't need a 2 pixel animated dots as a cake. Shut up facebook!
   
4. I already moved on to twitter. Yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say.
   
5. Just refusing it for absolutely no reason at all.
